The death of Naruto

Naruto is back with his 4th movie (Gekijoban Naruto Shippuden). Together with his selected team that consists of Sakura, Neji and Rock Lee, they have a mission to protect and escort the High Priestess of Demon Country, Shion. It all happens after the demon, Mouryou was released by Yomi to destroy the Five Nations and to form the Thousand Year Kingdom together. Mouryou uses Yomi’s body as a temporary medium to move around while waiting to be united with his true form. Shion’s duty now is to prevent Mouryou from getting back his physical body. At the mean time, Kakashi and other Jounins are fighting to stop the advancement of the statue warriors brought back alive by Mouryou.

Others joining the party later is Kakashi, Gai, Shikamaru, Temari, Tsunade, Shizune and her pig, Anko, Iruka and Ten Ten. Spot them below

There is not much info for the 4 Jounins, no names mentioned – the only one I noticed is Setsuna, the guy with the mask. So, I will name them according to their appearance like the pink hair guy (their head), Setsuna, the orange short hair lady and the blue long hair guy. Yomi in the middle is their current leader. He is the one that will interact with Mouryou later. Except for the pink haired guy, the other 3 have ability to control nature-based element chakras as their main power.

• Setsuna have the ability to control the earth, rock and magma elements
• The blue long hair guy controls the air/wind element
• The orange short hair lady controls the most – fire, water and air/wind elements
• The pink haired guy is the one that supports the 3 characters above by supplying them with chakra

After watching them in battle, I noticed that 4 of them, as individuals are very weak. They need the chakra supply to gain their power and to fight. Once they’re out of chakra, they will revert back to their normal human forms. And they need to work together as a team to form a combo of powerful attack. Below are some examples of their combo.

Shion the High Priestess of the Demon Country

Shion is an arrogant lady with a foul mouth and has the ability to see the future (death) of the individual loyal to her. She is the High Priestess that has been taught the sealing technique after her mother, Miroku – the High Priestess that have sealed Mouryou in the first place passed away by sacrificing herself. To complete the ritual the Priestess involved must sacrifice her life by combining together with Mouryou to seal the demon himself. Other than that Shion has a personal guard named Taruho.

THE BATTLES

There is 3 main battle in this movie if I put aside the battles between the others and the statue army.

BATTLE N0 1

This is between Naruto’s team and Yomi’s team after Shion has left her temple.

Naruto vs the orange short hair lady – Naruto is no match at all as he cloned himself and ran around avoiding her hits. Finally Naruto used his clones to fool her and applied his Rasengan from behind. Although a perfect hit but it doesnt leave any damage to her as she can manipulate her body and turn it into liquid form. Naruto fled the scene after she told him that her main purpose is to separate him from Neji. RESULT : Naruto Team 0 – Yomi Team 0

Rock Lee vs Setsuna – This is one of the best fight scenes in this movie. Rock Lee doesnt have any ninjutsu techniques to defeat Setsuna that has transformed into a solid rock monster forcing him to use the forbidden third, fourth and fifth gate techniques. Rock Lee managed to perform it perfectly but didnt leave any effect on Setsuna. Rock Lee went on to his final resort, a chocolate bon-bon pill gave to him by Gai Sensei. After consuming it, Rock Lee managed to destroy Setsuna with one of his kicks. The pill itself a kind of liquor if I’m not wrong. Remember that Rock Lee will go nuts and gain some extra power up after taking liquors?. RESULT : Naruto Team 1 – Yomi Team 0

Neji vs the blue long hair guy – Neji was attacked by the blue and pink haired guy while escorting Sakura and Shion. To avoid any damages to both of them, Neji asks Sakura to go ahead without him. Neji uses his Hakkeshou Kaiten to defend himself resulting some heavy loss of chakra. Neji fled the scene after findind out that the pink haired guy is a dummy and the real one has gone after Sakura. RESULT : Naruto Team 1 – Yomi Team 0

Sakura vs the pink hair guy – Sakura was ambushed from behind and the pink hair guy applied his Masui Sejutsu (Secret Anesthesia Technique) on her. Sakura became paralysed and cannot do anything and the pink hair guy proceeded to destroy Shion. RESULT : Naruto Team 1 – Yomi Team 1

The Shion that was killed by the pink haired guy is actually a clone by Taruho. While transporting Shion around, Sakura bumped into Taruho that was applying the Shadow Mirror Shapeshift Technique on himself. It’s similar to other cloning techniques, but they cannot revert back to their original form.

BATTLE N0 2

This is a very short and fast battle between both of the teams. After realizing their weakness, Neji ordered Naruto to bring Shion to the Shrine himself. As I’ve already mentioned above about how Yomi’s team need the supplement of Chakra from the pink hair guy for their powers, Neji used Rock Lee and Sakura as a bait to force the remaining two of Yomi’s members to use up all their chakra. When the time is right, Neji attacks the pink hair guy that is also the Chakra supplier with his Jyuuken Hou Hakke Rokujuuyonshou (Gentle Fist, Eight Trigrams, Sixty-Four Strikes Technique), killing him on the spot. Without any chakra and powers left, the two remaining members was easliy taken down by Rock Lee and Sakura. Rock Lee demolishes the blue haired guy and Sakura finishes the orange haired lady with just one punch.

THE FINAL BATTLE

At the shrine, Naruto faces the horde of statue armies that has been waiting there for them. He and his clones started to stop the army from invading the shrine while Shion makes her way into it. After entering the shrine Shion was surprised to find out that Mouryou was already waiting for her there. After some effort to barricade the tomb where Mouryou true form is buried, Shion failed to stop them from merging together. With no other choices left, she made up her mind to follow her mother’s way, by sealing the demon together with herself. She transforms (LOL BELLDANDY!) herself and seconds before the merging happens, Naruto pulled her out. They both form the Ultra-Chakra Rasengan and destroyed Mouryou in the end.

Thanks to Kakashi, Shikamaru and Temari’s assistant to defeat the statue warriors, Naruto managed to grab hold of Shion in time

Also please take note that the best parts in Naruto movies always comes at the last 15-20 minutes in the end, so stay glued to your TV screen. As a Naruto fan myself, this movie is a great one although the bad guys this time are a bit soft and got easily defeated. Other than that, I enjoyed watching it very much. Highly recommended. This is where Shion asks Naruto to be her partner and make babies with her so that she could pass down the Priestess power to her next generation. Naruto that is as dumb as ever – accepted it. Look at how Sakura blushes, Rock Lee got the shivers all over his head and Kakashi’s eye almost pop out! – ENJOY
