This is one of the reasons why I skipped 5 days without updating my blog as I was busy taking care of this little mutt. After coming back from the grooming salon a week ago, he started to scratch around his mouth area non-stop. At first I though it was just a normal itch or maybe its the ticks, but after it got worse where his mouth, especially his lips got swollen from the heavy super duty scratching, I brought him to the vet. As expected he got infected by some minor skin problems that I couldn’t remember how to pronounce it. The skin disease is a common one but it will be a very lethal one if it manage to develop itself to the next stage. Most probably he got it from the grooming salon itself where I noticed they usually keep him together with other dogs in the same room. Since the Miniature Schnauzer breed has a common weakness that is the high skin sensitivity problem, he may got the infection from the grooming tools used there. They use the same tools to groom all the dogs that are brought in without cleaning it first. The other suspected factor is the shampoo that they used to bathe him. After the check-up, I’m happy that its not a major one for him, we got some Anti-Biotic capsules plus some anti-itch pills and a funnel to strap around his neck to prevent him from scratching more. Up to date today, his skin problem has already showed some good progress. The doctor adviced me to groom the little bugger myself to avoid anymore problems like this. Now this little devil will have his own personal groomer

May 30th was Marie Fredriksson’s (half of the Swedish pop music group, Roxette) 50th birthday and I sincerely didnt know she was that old already. If she keeps jumping on stage while performing at this age, she could join the ranks of Tina Turner as the grandma of Pop Rock music. For those who are not familar with the group Roxette, they are the ones who brought you the love song Its must have been love, soundtrack for the movie Pretty Woman.

Roxette is the only non heavy-metal group that I listen to, if you all assume that Scorpions and Bon Jovi doesn’t qualify as heavy metal or rock bands. Actually I started to listen to Roxette not because of their music but from the looks of Marie herself. I still remember watching Roxette’s MTV (Fading Like a Flower) and got obsessed by her as I was interested in short haired or tomboy ladies.

From there on, I started to buy Roxette’s album everytime there is a new release. That was around the 1990’s if I’m not wrong. After their Crash Boom Bang album was released, there was no news about Roxette till their latest album Dont Bore Us, Get to the Chorus. During that period the only rumour that I’ve heard about Roxette that Marie was diagnosed with cancer. There’s no confirmation about that till now, so I assume it’s just a hoax. Anyway before I start to preach non-stop here, below is 2 good links about Roxette, one is updated daily.

You can find tonnes of Roxette’s MTV at youtube, although quality is a bit bad, but they are still enjoyable. All these years, I was hoping for them to do a live concert in my country here and until now – pity it still remains as a part of my dream (yeah, keep on dreaming). I’ll take this opportuniy to wish grandma Marie a Happy Birthday, to Per – keep on entertaining me with your music, please.

Episode 5 continues with Maka and Blackstar’s arrival at Stein’s stronghold. There are great battle scenes throughout this episode, Maka reveals her ability to see other individual souls, similar with Stein’s ability.

The battle starts with Maka and Soul making their move, but was easily warded off by Stein. At the same time, the cheeky Black Star tried to attack from the other side. All their assault was not successful and that is when Maka realises the difference in terms of strength between them and Stein.

Stein manage to grab Maka during the fight and Black Star takes this opportunity to apply his Big Wave technique at Stein. Although the hit was successful, it didnt leave any effect on Stein as he has already adjusted his wavelength to suit’s Blackstar’s attack in advance, neutralising the impact.

Stein counter-attacked by applying some electrical energy to Blackstar, knocking him out on the spot.

Maka and Soul went to their last resort, that is the Soul Resonance after Soul manage to convince the dejected Maka. Maka almost gave-up after getting a glimpse at Stein’s soul and realised how powerful Stein is.  Both of them merged their wavelength to produce the Witch Hunter weapon and launched the final attack against Stein.  As expected, Stein manage to parry  the attack with ease and destroying it at the same time.

Stein made the advance towards the fallen Maka, but was stopped by Soul. Soul shielded Maka with his body and warned Stein not to harm his meister. This is where the big joke starts. Stein kneeled down, patting Soul’s head and giving the pair a passing grade. He told them that this fight was a supplementary lesson ordered by the Shinigami himself.

Other notes

Pity Black Star didnt use Tsubaki as his weapon as she was guarding Sid Sensei and I still dont understand Sid Sensei’s origin as a zombie in this episode. The Shinigami and Death the Kid was watching the whole battle from somewhere else and I’m surprised that even Death doesn’t know anything about the supplementary lesson. The Shinigami stated the Stein’s strength lies in his soul with high levels of observation, correspondence and compatibility. That’s how he manage to absorb Black Star’s attack at the beginning. Kid proceeds to assist Maya and Black Star after watching them losing their battle. The pathetic Death didnt make it in time as he was so depressed that he forgotten to fold the end of the toilet paper into triangulars. As a perfectionist himself, this was a major blow to him and even the Thompson sisters couldnt manage to drag him out of it.

The much anticipated anime series is here for its third season. Good news is, it is the zany School Rumble third term or known as San Gakki. Bad news is, it is only available in 2 episodes OVA format where I was hoping for at least a full 12 or 13 episodes series. Worst of all, it wont be aired on TV.

According to Kodansha’s official website, School Rumble San Gakki (School Rumble: Third Term) will be a two-episodes OVA bundled with the upcoming School Rumble manga volumes 21 and 22, the first of which is to be released on July 17, and the second one on September 17

From the trailer itself, I could see a lot of funny events that is going to happen, wonder if they manage to satisfy all the School Rumble fans out there by squeezing all of them into only 2 episodes.

Zettai Kareshi or known as Absolute Boyfriend revolves around Izawa Riko, a part-time worker at Asamoto, a company dealing with confectionary, majorly in luxury desserts. She had a crush at one of the the senior staff there, Ishizeki Hayato. She keeps grumbling that Ishizeki doesnt pay any attention to her as he only treats her as his co-worker. At the same time, her urge for a perfect partner was overheard by Namikiri Gaku, a staff from Kronos Heaven and also the leader of the male humanoid project. He gives Riko a few days trial at their first test subject, Night Tenjo – the perfect love partner. And the all the other events starts here.
