I’ve been waiting for new information for this anime since the news appeared at Heisei Democracy and Animenewsnetwork recently. There’s not much details given about this particular anime, but I can assure you that this is definitely going to be an ecchi one, more or less a fanservice anime as what we can see from their Artbooks and the PVC figurines released by Megahouse Excellent Model Core Series. Queen’s Blade is called “Visual Book for Duel.” It is based on the Lost Worlds Combat Picture Books, the classic game book for duel. In this game, each player uses one beautiful fighter (for one book) to duel with another player. The combination of each player’s choice of offenses and defenses then leads to the character being in a state of, for example, falling down, being wounded, having armor broken, etc (each state has an artistic page in the character book), and the repetition of these decides a winner, by accumulated wounds. According to HobbyJapan, Queen’s Blade has compatibility with Lost Worlds Books and can have a duel with them. Data of Queen’s Blade is made by Flying Buffalo Inc. which has license of the Lost Worlds.

The Queen’s Blade anime most probably will be full of fighting scenes, as we can see from what their Artbook functions are, where female warriors battle among themselves to be the last standing one and to regain supremecy as the queen. If they do follow this plot for their coming anime, it will have the same storyline, more or less like the Konjiki no Gash Bell! or the Rozen Maiden anime series. What that concerns me most about this anime is :

1. What type of genre that it will represent? Ecchi and fanservice is a YES, how about the action or fighting scenes that are going to take place? Will it be full of serious battle with blood or gory scenes like we can see in Basilisk? Or we can see some funny and dumb ones like in Tower of Druaga – The Aegis of Uruk.
2. So far, there is no male character in the Artbook series – so, I can assume there will be some yuri scenes in this anime.
3. Up-to-date there is 22 released Queen’s Blade Artbook (correct me if I’m wrong), no news yet which characters that will be in the anime series and which ones that wont be in the list. Since it has a theme where everybody fights for herself, it will be a tough guess who will be whose ally and foe among them.
4. Who will be the on the good side and who will play the role for the bad ass side.
5. Will the characters have the same attire or clothing as shown in the artbook, where we can see some different colour versions in there.
